Enchanting is a gathering skill as well. Everyone can make a lot of money with enchanting though that's pretty low (338 at the moment) and you should own some mats with you. I've yet to farm Greens to be able to get the disenchanted items so that I could level it quickly, and I know I'm not dropping Enchanting since Enchanting can make you more money than Herbalism or Mining, if you have the tactics and methods.
As the experience of one player goes the situation has become a dilemma. As a level 70 one can run through most Azeroth instances without too much trouble. Disenchant every item, keep all the cloth, rinse and repeat and sell the Enchanting mats and cloth on AH. Most level 42-57 enchanting mats sell for quite a bit of gold (as much or much more than most Outlands mats), and lower to mid level cloth sells better than Netherweave, at least on my server. The catch-22 of course is that you will want to keep what you gather for your own profession training, but that's where you make the decision. Use it to train with now, sell it on AH for your epic flyer, or split it 50/50.
And what is the relation between tailoring and enchanting? The typical pair for enchanting is tailoring. This is chosen because it doesn't require a gathering profession to make items, and you use the items that you make from Tailoring to Disenchant into enchanting materials. However, if you're a warrior, it's a good bet that Tailoring doesn't do much for you on its own.
What's more, you don't need to create your own items for disenchanting, you can get them on the AH, or from drops. So if Tailoring does not benefit you, then feel free to pick ANY other profession you'd like... preferably one that doesn't require a gathering profession (e.g., don't pick Alchemy if you don't have a way of getting herbs).
You may have heard the term "power leveling" before, but perhaps you're not sure what it does or how it can benefit you. For many new players, vast worlds of MMORPGs like World of Warcraft can be daunting and intimidating when starting out. Having a high level friend to help you through the initial learning periods and to guide you through hard quests or take you through elite dungeons is a great boon and would serve to vastly increase the rate in which you gain levels. However, not everyone has a high level friend off the bat... and rarer still, are randomy strangers willing to help lowbies out without a price.
