Gearing a Lock for Karazhan 1

Congratulation on your new 70 warlock! You've just turned experience into WOW gold and turn on the wonderful world of BC raiding and Arena PvP. What do you do now? Of course the most urgent thing you should carry on with is gearing up.
I've come into contact with some general gearing guidelines for the pre-Karazhan Warlock in "Locked and loaded", it's time now to dwell on the specific pieces, especially since the introduction of Battle gear with patch 2.4.
Quests, rep and crafting will ensure you more gears than the random drop, which is a million to one for those who are in rare luck.
What's more, it is becoming difficult to find guild, even players to run to the unpopular instancing. Therefore we can safely rate instance drops lower than gear from other sources, so that we can get your Warlock up to speed before Wrath of the Lich King is released.
Maybe we are now fortunate enough since we can create and cultivate our character before participating into any raid content. The list below will show you the way to get the fullest preparation in terms of gearing for raiding, but personal experience, situational awareness and a correct attitude will still be critical to raid success.
As you go deeper into Karazhan, you will become more and more disappointing since many of the gear drops will be equal or even inferior to what you already have. It matters little to you since you already have full gear in hands, isn't it?
Let's start from the top to the toe.
Head: Spellstrike Hood
The Spellstrike Hood, part of a two-piece set with the pants, is well worth the investment of materials. The set will see you through the entirety of Karazhan, and even a good part of tier 5 content.
If you're not a tailor and you're running dungeons frequently, take note of the very nice Oblivion Hood, which drops from the final boss of Arcatraz. The Evoker's Helmet of Second Sight will be the most significant quest reward.
Neck: Vindicator's Pendant of Dominance
The necklace is worthy your investment since its 15,300 honor points and 10 Eye of the Storm marks will help you go through all the difficulties and hardship encountered in the Karazhan.
