Heirloom "Binds to account": Scaling Items
The latest build 8926 introduced a new type of item called "Heirloom" items that scale with the level of your character. The cool thing is these items are also Binds to account, meaning that you can trade them between characters on the same account whenever you want! These items will scale with your character's level from 1 all the way to 80, so no matter what level you are, you'll gain some benefit from the item.
Not all effects are available at level 1; they're gradually added in some cases as you gain levels.
Currently the only Binds on account items available are found on the Emblem of Heroism token vendor in Dalaran.
The items use a text color many will be familiar with if you've seen Martin Thunder(Main Hand Miscellaneous, 19-37 Damage, Speed 0.50, +5-10 Fire Damage, +6-60 Frost Damage, 137.0 damage per second, 100 Armor, +110 Fire Resistance, +100 Nature Resistance, +100 Frost Resistance, +100 Shadow Resistance. Kills all enemies in a 30 yard radius. Use:Cheater). This was originally used as the "Artifact" color code in the game files, but no Artifact quality items were ever implemented.
The shoulder slot items all seem to gain a 10% experience gain bonus at some point. It doesn't have it at level 1, but it does have it at level 55, 70, and 80.
Weapons:
Venerable Dal'Rend's Sacred Charge (1H DPS Sword): 76-141 damage, speed 2.80, 39.0 damage per second, +7 stamina, requires level 1 to 80(55).
Equip: Increase attack power by 7.
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 9(+0.71%).
Dignified Headmaster's Charge (2H Spellpower Staff): 118-177 damage, speed 2.90, 51.0 damage per second, +24 stamina, +19 intellect, requires level 1 to 80(55).
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 16.
Equip: Increases spell power by 8.
Devout Aurastone Hammer (1H Spellpower Mace): 73-136 damage, speed 2.70, 39.0 damage per second, +7 stamina, +11 intellect, requires level 1 to 80(55).
Equip: Restores 10 mana per 5 seconds.
Equip: Increase spell power by 8.
Balanced Heartseeker (1H DPS Dagger): 46-86 damage, speed 1.70, 39.0 damage per second, +6 agility(+0.33% crit, +0.31% dodge) requires level 1 to 80(55).
Equip: Increase attack power by 21.
Equip: Improves hit rating by 4(+0.44%).
Charmed Ancient Bone Bow: 71-141 damage, speed 2.80, 39.0 damage per second, requires level 1 to 80(55).
Equip: Increase attack power by 14.
Equip: Improves hit rating by 5(+0.40%)
Equip: Improves hit rating by 4.
Bloodied Arcanite Reaper (2H DPS Axe): 155-232 damage, speed 3.80, 51.0 damage per second, +17 strength(+0.31% parry), +26 stamina, requires level 1 to 80(55).
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 17(+1.34%).
