Players hold that the motorcycle mount is a terrible Idea. They are BOE. They will be sold left and right. They are faster than regular mounts. Why would anyone use an animal mount if these are faster, and cannot be dazed off of them? They wouldn't. These will literally swarm every server everywhere. You will not be able to go anywhere without hearing that anoying motercycle rumble.
It happened in SWG. No more neat rideable animals, everyone had swoops. It is ridiculous that these will be had by everyone. I absolutely hate the motorcycles. They are way too sleek and refined and their sound is that of a motorcycle on earth. Make them a tracked machine and give them a clunky mechanical sound, and make them BOP, and they would fit in with the mechano punk catagory so many are clinging to. As of right now they do not.
Not everyone is able to get the ROFLcopters, they are engineering exclusives, and they are no better than the other animal flying mounts. They are worse in some cases. Not everyone can get a rocket firing mechanism either. Sure the zeppelins are more technologicaly advanced than a 2 wheeled vehicle, but there as of todays date 2 on the game and they are cleverly and used extremely minimally. Those are acceptable in the lore because they are rare. With these being better than and available to everyone, they will quite possibly make this game jump the shark. Just like "Happy Days." They will make this game unbearable for some, and something completely different for anyone else. Those who don't protest these abominations because they lack the forsight to see this, deserve the terrible game they will be getting.
Do you really want every city clogged with motorcycles? Really? What is World of Warcraft about them being everywhere? "Oh but Odrok, you obviously never played the Warcraft series, because they had submarines and flying ships." Actually I have and not EVERYONE used them, they weren't necessarily better than anything else, and the minimal use was acceptable. They sure as hell were't ln most, many, or even alot of levels.
I think they should stop bringing the real world into this game at such a fervent pace. For merkins sake I want to escape reality in this game not get annoyed at every pork-wad riding around on their "HOG" and hanging out in front of Micky Dougles in their Oak Lee Sunglasses and Farley Graveidson leather fringed jackets. I play to get away from those ridiculous clods and their "fast/loud=big nanner" mode of thought.
Magic explains alot in this game, but the fact that you need a skill level of 300 to use a light and throw grenade, and NOT need any mechanical aptitude to use this advanced mechanical vehicle is just dumb. I can imagine Tauren, the people of nature and it's logevity tearing around on these ecological bootstomping smog factories and it brings a single teardrop to my eye. R.I.P. WoW of old, and welcome to a "used to be" fantasy based game that will inevitably have a capitol named Wilmaukee and Tedroit.
Motorcycles are the dumbing down of this game.
They are reality television pap.
They are idiots driving while talking on their cell phone.
They are the mall.
They are Top 40 radio.
They are angst filled gravestone tipping teenagers.
They are the cool unique friend you had that turned into a hippie now dresses like every hippie in the world to be different like they all are.
They are big business.
By all means if you like these things continue supporting them and the motorcycle mount.
Before telling me that they are giving the arguable majority what they want because it makes them money, ask yourself if they should. Should they wreck the lore and many other aspects of this fine game that so many fell in love with, or should they stick with making a game with validity and relevence, and leave out the game ruining crap?
