Recently, I have come across some criticism about the back-handed buffs belonging to the shaman. As a conclusion, I will share you with the main point of the article. 
The main points go on like these:
Elemental and Enhance shaman do have gread DPS.
Resto shaman are more or less fine when it comes to trees.
Totems are NOT nor ever have been equivalent to buffs.
shaman consistantly get nerfed.
Actually, shaman are very important to Brutallus. Elemental shaman are wanted by most raiding guilds, and each of those guilds always has a brilliant Enhancement shaman, and like 50 resto shamans. 
Shaman are in no way hurting for groups, unless they become overpopulated, and realistically, they'd have to nerf the coefficient to terrible levels for elemental not to scale up.
The changes to storm, earth and fire are huge for scaling. Every time you see a 100% effect of spellpower or spell damage, it means you're adding another step to how well you scale. The addition to ToW, and what will be some epic lava burst crits flat out mean we're going to be putting out a whole lot of hurt. 
Elemental is already the best scaling class due to lightning overload and trinkets like TLC. 
The changes to it in wrath of the Lich King are not fancy or complicated, but they're very big in terms of scaling.  A small nerf to the coefficient of LB is expected.
