Recently some top-level alliances have completed the third-stage of their main city. The prelude of battle has been launched. Some insignificant alliances have come to the stage. However, due to the high property of the play itself, all players have complained that their computers can not bear it. Developer responded quickly that they will improve the unreasonable requirement and lower the recruitment qualification. We have no idea of their changes and improvement now and the only thing we can do is nothing but wait in anxiety.
We have to admit that Age of Conan has no top-level alliances till now in a strict sense. Most of the middle and large alliances have no fixed order, no organization and no aim. For example, in terms of collecting resources, though one month has passed, there are no completed and perfect cases. In my opinion, and taking into account all my experience, one 100-people, middle alliance should complete within one week the quest of gathering no more than 600,000 items of resources.
While in fact, most of the alliances are now blocked in the stages of T1 and T2. In the case of some intrusion of some forceful alliances, we can imagine that the entire fortress will be taken over from them. Accordingly, we can conclude Age of Conan now is in his infancy. Whether in future there will master hands in Age of Conan or not is still in suspense.
I will make some contrast between Age of Conan and WOW.
The solo in Ahn'Qiraj in WOW can be classified as a difficult quest since this zone is currently in battle. My personal experience is 80-people alliance in one and half days. On the other hand, when I was in the fortress of Conan alliance, I feel so frustrated and confused. 610,000 items of resources, of which 20% can be afforded by other alliances, low degree of difficulties and no outside interruption requires more than 100 participants in three weeks, and the quest still 30% unfinished.
The former alliance is just a competitive A-one alliance while the second one enjoys the most advanced server.
The battle is around the corner…However I am becoming confused to its future with some much restriction in.
EQ and AA system, the reward system in WOW… What about Age of Conan?
Shall they enforce the consumption of resources? Or should the currency system go after the way of WOW or GW?
When the battle begins, people will focus on these aspects, together with the manipulation skills of various alliances. Alliance, enemies, the way to recruit the possible power, and the utilization of the present resources will catch players' eyes. Privately I am in favor of some servers, such as Deathwisper, Tyranny and Cimmeria which are the most activated ones.
