What happened to the beta testing of the Wrath of the Lich King recently? Let's us pay some attention to it now.

It compels me to kill one's own friend.
What's more, I am not open to the option, in other words, I am compelled. However, I can neither accept it nor do it, even at the cost of failure. That's it. I will not become a death knight unless it has been changed and improved.

The cons hold that the story and plot in the game should to some extent reflect people's real life in the physical world. The career quests as the death knight is too bloody to withstand.
The pros think otherwise. The game is totally out of connection with the real world, in other words, it is beyond the life in the physical world. The death knight here is under the control of the Lich King, the vicious man in the game; therefore, the death knight will surely participate in the so-called moral stigma. If you can not accept it, leave it.

You are destined if you have chosen to be a death knight, in other words, you are enslaved by the Lich King at the very beginning and deprived of any free movement with your willingness. Till the end of the story, when the holy light is re-launched, you will then back to be yourself.
However, if it still hard for you to swallow, you can choose not to be the death knight. Since Blizzard presently is committed to conduct changes to some parts of the death knight, we can rest our mind and wait for the final version of the story.
