Which class do you have? If you are a warrior, do you have some problems? I have a friend how had a warrior problems, let me copy his words: "I'm a level 49 fury warrior and I have pretty much played solo up until now. I have done a few instances but each time I have found myself as DPS, which is fine. The only downside to this is that i have never learnt to tank properly, I do have a general idea and have read some guides, but that is it. My problem has only become apparent recently while trying to join groups for BRD and sunken temple, no one wants a DPS warrior anymore, because other classes can fill that role more effectively than I can as a warrior. It seems that my only option is to just jump in there and offer to tank despite the fact that at level 49, I've never done it before. I'll probably cause the group to be wiped numerous times and be called a n00b by some kid, but I guess that's what I'll have to do. In your experience do DPS warriors have any place within a good group? And does anyone have any experience of having to tank for the first time at higher level?”
Who can help him? If you have any comments, welcome to our wow gold site to give out your ideas. DPS warriors can be good, but like he said, they're generally perfered to tank.
I didn't tank my first dungeon with my druid until I was level 62. I had done some reading online regarding what types of attacks/abilities I should be using to generate threat and I made an effort to ensure that my gear was at least reasonable.
For starters, whether you end up tanking or not, download and install Omen if you haven't done so already. Set Omen so that it's visible while solo and head out to a place where you can find mobs your level. Start with one mob and practice your threat rotation. I'm pretty sure Omen defaults to displaying your TPS (Threat Per Second) in addition to your overall threat on a target. Practice your timing and see how high you can get your TPS. Then try it with 2 mobs, alternating targets to get a feel for multi-mob tanking. If you have a friend who can heal you, even better...get them to come along and make it your goal to prevent any of the mobs you are fighting from peeling off and going after the healer. If you can do that with 2-3 mobs that are 2-3 levels above you, you should be fine against same-level elites. And that, in a nutshell, is basic tanking...keeping the mobs on you while receiving the heals necessary to keep you going without having the mobs go after the healer. The higher you can get your TPS, the more your dps can do damage. The more damage they can do without pulling threat, the faster the fights go and the less chance of something going wrong or having your healer go OOM.
