All RPGs require characters to level up. Leveling up is typically a factor of time and energy - the more time you spend, the faster you level up! There are ways to reduce this time though, to make leveling more efficient, less time consuming and in many ways, more fun. By asking for the assistance of a higher-level character to take you through quests, dungeons and farming creatures, you can gain XP faster, at low risk and with far greater efficiency. This process is called power leveling.

Getting someone to power level you is not easy. Typically, strangers will not help you at all. You need friends who are higher level than you to help - but even if you have friends who are in their upper-levels, they won't always be able to take the time to help because they may be doing their own things - like grinding for reputation, wow gold, or raiding in epic dungeons! Power leveling can be boring for your higher level friends, because the process is not at all challenging for them, and can actually be quite mind-numbing. However, there is no denying its effectiveness. You can a few levels in your 50s with the proper amount of help from a level 60 in a matter of days, when typically it could take weeks of casual play time to reach the same effect.
